Things to know before you fly
Most countries around the world require Advance Passenger Information (passport data) to be updated in passengers’ bookings at the time of ticketing. We request that Advance Passenger Information for all our passengers is sent to prior to issuing tickets, so that the same can be updated in your bookings. Tickets to some destinations cannot be issued without Advance Passenger Information.
Please note that it is mandatory for passengers travelling to the USA or Canada to supply us with this information at the time of ticketing.
Visitors are advised to purchase travel insurance prior to commencement of their journey. Global Interlink can offer a range of inbound and outbound travel insurance policies.
Passengers who have purchased e-Tickets from us are requested to check their itinerary, flight times and baggage allowance prior to travel. Also inform us of any special dietary requirements, seat preference and frequent flyer memberships so that the same can be inserted in your booking.
Airlines have different checked-in luggage and hand luggage allowances. If you have purchased your ticket through us, please read your ticket or contact us for the baggage allowance applicable on your journey.
The baggage allowance on flights to national parks is 15 kg per passenger in soft bags (i.e. no hard shell suitcases). This allowance includes hand baggage and checked in baggage.
It is important to pack light if taking an air safari! Should you wish to carry excess baggage, it is possible to purchase a freight seat (i.e. an extra seat which can be used to carry extra baggage.) Please contact us if you require a freight seat and have booked your air safari with us.
Beat the queues… Most airlines offer online check-in prior to departure. Contact us to find out if the flight on which you are booked offers online check-in. If it does, check-in well before your flight, print your own boarding pass or online check-in receipt, and go directly to the baggage drop counter at the airport.
Names provided to us for airline for ticketing purposes MUST be supplied to us in the SURNAME / FIRST NAME format exactly as shown in the passenger’s passport. (Middle names are not mandatory for ticketing and cannot be substituted for surnames or first names.)
Global Interlink will not accept liability for denied boarding or any fees associated with incorrect names provided at the time of booking/ticketing. We strongly recommend that passengers send a scanned copy of the data page of their passports.
Passengers are requested to check-in well in time for their flights. Passengers who reach airline check-in counters after they have closed will not be permitted to board. Furthermore, passengers holding restricted tickets who arrive at the airport late will be charged standard reservation change penalties and no-show fees.
